We loved our stay at Contentment. There was plenty of space for our party of 12. The kitchen is big and fully stocked, which made preparing meals easy. The beach in front of the home was everything we could want. There was big flat areas for playing games and waves big enough for boogie boarding. The pier was a little less than a mile from the house and was the perfect distance for runs and walks. There are plenty of shells to find for the “shellers”. We even had a dolphin come right up to the shore and the kids ran along beside it on the beach. In the beginning of the week it was unseasonably cool. We still went out and enjoyed the salt air and the ocean. We did venture out a little more because of the temperature outside. About 40 minutes from the home we took the ferry to Fort Fischer. The Ferry is $5 total for the car and all the people. At Fort Fischer we went to the Aquarium and did a nice hike on the Basin Trail, which was great for kids! On Holden Beach we explored the end of the island and went on walks around the point towards the inter coastal, which was fantastic- we saw a whole fever of stingray, tons of birds, and the sand is beautifully soft. There is also a park just before the bridge to leave the island, which has a playground, basketball, and tennis. Perfect for breaks from the beach. We had so much fun!
